The Annual State Conference is held each year on the first weekend in May. The team that is formed is responsible to work with the Chapter President to suggest speakers, contact potential vendors, marketing for the conference, research locations and/or participate during the conference helping with logistics such as registration and helping members find their classrooms.

The Membership committee oversees all membership outreach and retention programs as well as the creation of new initiatives in recruitment and renewal. Sounds a little boring, but its a perfect fit for a detail oriented self motivated volunteer. Feel free to reach out to Bernie via email to learn more.
The newsletter and communications committee is responsible for writing our newsletter as well as soliciting advertisements. Articles are solicited from chapter board members, committee chairs, the chapter membership and outside contributors, as appropriate. The articles are edited for compliance with AMTA mission, goals, strategic plan and chapter objectives. This committee is also responsible for maintaining the website and facebook page.
This committee stays up to date with state laws and regulations that have an effect on Licensed Massage Therapists. They help organize efforts to activate the membership to contact their local elected officials about areas of concern. They support Virginia Municipal League and LLegislative Day in Richmond VA with seated massage. Contact President@amtava.org for more details.
The committee oversees activities relating to creating visibility for the Chapter activities to our members. This team creates Press Releases, posts to social media and communicates the benefits of Therapeutic Massage to the public.
